April 2024

April 2024 Newsletter!

It's Aprilllll! Time is flying by so quickly, but I'm not complaining about the warmth. xD

Writing's been quite good this month! I'm attempting Camp NaNoWriMo, but I'm going to aim for 10,000 words this month! We'll see if I do it. I'll update y'all next month.

As I said last month, I did Lent! (Which is the 40 days before Easter! Usually, people fast/give something up during these 40 days!) And for me, it was a really interesting process.

I cut out junk food and stopped listening to secular music, but I found a considerable effect on me from the secular music. Probably because I was a bit lenient with the junk food part xD

Not listening to secular music really helped me focus on God and how grateful I am for His love and sacrifice.

Although after Lent ended, I did go back to listening to secular music, I am listening to less!

That being said, I listened to some amazing music this past monthhh.

  • Big God by Terrian | I first listened to this song on the radio on the way to school, and it's really catchy but also so good!
  • Blue Butterflies by JHIN | This song is so vibe-y. That's not a word, but that's okay. It gives off this really romantic, aesthetic feeling and I love it so muchh.
  • 2 days into College by Aimee Carter | Am I in college? No. Nope. But this song is so good and so addictive and relatable, even though I'm not in college. Go listen to it. It's so good.

I did some reading this past monthhhh! Here are my recs from this month!

  • Eye of the Storm by Karynn Heckler | Okay, so it's not a book (It's a <20 pages short story) but it's just so good. It's allegorical, and I loved the writing style of the author. 10/10 would recommend!
  • Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien | This took me quite a bit to finish because the text of the book was so small, but y'all. I had my doubts about this book, but it's amazing. Please go for it because I'm 60% through the second book now and it's just awesome.

I did some baking this monthhh! I made mini apple pies just for fun, and I made chocolate banana bread!

Both were amazing but I liked the chocolate banana bread just a bit more.

  • Mini Apple Pies - These were super easy to make because I bought the puff pastry from the store. xD But these were deliciousss. The apples were soft and sweet and it was a great dessert.
  • Chocolate Banana Bread - This was so good. I made it for my mom's birthday, and we loved it. It was sweet, but not too sweet, especially since we used dark chocolate. I also don't like bananas, but this bread was really good!
